The genetic diversity of Asplenium viride (Aspleniaceae) fern colonizing heavy metal-polluted sites

چکیده
Asplenium viride is a diploid species, belonging to the largest genus of cosmopolitan fern family Aspleniaceae and occurring on various types alkaline rocks. It known colonize sites with high concentrations heavy metals, exhibiting changes in frond morphology. A. can sometimes form new substrate-dependent ecotypes that be morphologically genetically different from parental populations. This study aimed evaluate morphological genetic diversity viride, test for potential correlation between variability metal concentration. Analysis specimens one metalliferous five non-metalliferous showed elevated metals roots plants. The were higher than aboveground organs, especially case Cd Pb, suggesting an excluder strategy these metals. Both non-metaliferous populated by plants similar ploidy levels. overall was low (HT = 0.25) concentrated populations (GST 0.62). obtained 2C DNA content ranged 8.67 pg/2C 8.69 pg/2C. STRUCTURE analysis revealed two groups among studied which did not correlate significantly supported AMOVA. suggests factors influencing are consequence intragametophytic selfing caused patchy habitats subsequent founder effects, resulting long-distance colonization single spores. species has polluted sites; however, it does seem distinct at those sites.

Microbial Diversity in Heavy-metal Polluted Waters
Indigenious water microflora as well as the presence of metaland xenobiotic biotransforming bacteria were investigated in waters near the KCM Pb-Zn smelter, South Bulgaria. Content of As, Hg, Cd, Mn, Pb, Cu and Zn exceeded in times the maximum permission standart. Absence of some microbial groups demonstrated a change in the microbial community structure in the region. Ecotoxicology test ISO/DI...
متن کاملAsplenium merapohense (Aspleniaceae), a new species from the Peninsular Malaysia
A new species of Asplenium is described from two collections made on limestone hills in Peninsular Malaysia. Conspicuous by its extremely narrow pinnae, it is probably allied to A. salignum but differs in sufficient characters (scale size, size and shape of lamina, venation and sorus length, position and orientation) to be a species in its own right.
متن کاملIsozyme variation and genetic relationships among taxa in the Asplenium obovatum group (Aspleniaceae, Pteridophyta).
The Asplenium obovatum group consists of diploid and tetraploid taxa; the origin of the tetraploid A. obovatum subsp. lanceolatum was previously considered to have occurred via autopolyploidy, involving one of the diploids of the group, either A. obovatum subsp. obovatum var. obovatum or var. protobillotii. To test this hypothesis, electrophoretic analyses of eight enzyme systems encoded by fou...

in current study, 63 samples of bat populations collected from differ regions were used for evaluating the geographic variations. twenty cranial and dental characters for traditional morphometric and landmarks method on the ventral, dorsal skull and mandible for geometry morphometric studies were used. statistical analyses of traditional morphometric and geometry morphometric data indicated low...
The Chemophytostabilisation Process of Heavy Metal Polluted Soil
Industrial areas are characterised by soil degradation processes that are related primarily to the deposition of heavy metals. Areas contaminated with metals are a serious source of risk due to secondary pollutant emissions and metal leaching and migration in the soil profile and into the groundwater. Consequently, the optimal solution for these areas is to apply methods of remediation that cre...
